MindFood Policies

Safeguarding

Policy Overview: Safeguarding is at the heart of what we do and fundamental to our existence as a charity.

We are all ambassadors for MindFood and for safeguarding. Some of us are employed, some volunteer. Whatever your role, we are all part of MindFood, and we want you to know what to do if you have concerns about a staff member, or a person who attends our courses. This includes their children or family members. The purpose of this policy is to set out MindFood’s approach to safeguarding staff and the adults who attend MindFood’s courses. It applies to everyone working and volunteering for MindFood or acting for or on our behalf and provides the framework to help us safeguard adults at risk with commitment and confidence. It describes some directorate safeguarding responsibilities, so you know who to ask for decisions or advice when you need it.

GDPR

Policy Overview: We will only ever ask for what we really need to know. We will collect and use the personal data that you share with us transparently, honestly and fairly. We will always respect your choices around the data that you share with us. We will put appropriate security measures in place to protect the personal data that you share.

We will never sell your data.

Fundraising and vulnerability

Policy Overview: This policy covers MindFood’s commitment to fair treatment of adult supporters that demonstrate vulnerable circumstances. It is applicable to all staff, volunteers, trustees and anyone acting on behalf of or in partnership with MindFood. It’s important to have a vulnerable adults policy to ensure that all MindFood fundraising is conducted in a fair and ethically responsible way. This policy will also detail what MindFood considers to be indications of vulnerability with the aim that, in practice, those acting on behalf of MindFood can easily recognise vulnerability and respond to it in a way that is best for the supporter.

Accepting donations

Policy Overview: This policy covers financial support from individuals and organisations that are essential to deliver the aims of MindFood. We welcome partnerships with, and gifts from, a wide range of supporters. In exceptional circumstances, however, it may be necessary to refuse support if acceptance would compromise on our mission, values and aims or threaten our reputation.
